MITSUI-SOKO (U.S.A.) Holds Grand Opening Ceremony for New Distribution Center
MITSUI-SOKO (U.S.A.), a Japan-based company providing services to the U.S. for more than 35 years, celebrated the grand opening of its new cold and dry storage warehouse in Puyallup, Washington. The 200,000 s.f. facility will support just-in-time distribution services.

Top-ranked Gray Construction was selected to design and build the Washington facility, which serves as a strategic location for MITSUI-SOKO. The facility is the company’s first greenfield operation and includes a mobile racking system in the cold storage area to provide greater storage efficiency.

The new facility is specifically engineered to meet the unique and exacting requirements of the aerospace industry featuring both refrigerated and ambient temperature warehouse space on over twelve acres. Additionally, it offers maximum flexibility and the secure storage of product in a precisely controlled environment.
The grand opening included an official ribbon-cutting ceremony with special remarks from Ginny Blasnick, senior vice president of Mitsui-Soko (U.S.A.) Inc.; Yoshiaki Miyajima, managing director of Mitsui-Soko International; Takeshi Murazawa, Consulate of Japan; Dennis Frett, executive vice president and COO of Toray Composite Materials America, Inc.; Bruce Dammeier, county executive of Pierce County in Washington; Bruce Kendall, president and CEO of the economic development board for Tacoma-Pierce County; and Stephen Gray, president and CEO of Gray Construction. Guests consisted of local government officials, partners and friends.
