Regional Manager, Southeast

After graduating from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Emily Mathis joined Gray as an administrative assistant in May of 2014. Her talents were quickly recognized, and she was promoted to project engineer, then transitioned into Pre-Construction services as an assistant project manager. By 2020, Mathis had become director of Pre-Construction services and an invaluable team member in Gray Southeast.

In her time at Gray, Emily has been involved in the pursuit of various notable projects, including Amazon, Qcells, Ford’s BlueOval SK Battery Park, Mercedes-Benz, and YKTA, to name a few.

Emily believes that Gray is the best and desires that our team members, customers, and partners feel the same. To effectively do this, she believes training is paramount. In her role as Southeast regional manager, Emily focuses on growing our people in an environment where markets, project complexities, skillsets, and qualifications are constantly evolving. Emily works closely with team members, helping them not only be effective in their positions but, more importantly, involved in the areas they have interests in—aligning their passions with their positions. Never losing sight of Gray’s culture and core values, Emily is grateful for the opportunity to strengthen the Southeast region that she loves, both in number and in capabilities.

In her free time, Emily enjoys cooking, traveling, tennis, and spending time outdoors.
