Global Impact
German multinational automotive corporation Daimler AG needed a new global logistics parts consolidation center (PCC) to facilitate the export of vehicle “kits” for final assembly worldwide.
Components produced at the Mercedes-Benz Alabama facility, another Gray project, along with components from other U.S. parts suppliers, arrive at the consolidation center where they are inspected, prepped, preserved, and protected with various measures, packaged into complete vehicle kits, and placed into containers for shipment to overseas locations.
The facility consisted of three major areas: the body parts preparation area, the assembly parts preparation area, and storage.
