Hanwha Solutions’ Qcells is one of the world’s largest and most recognized photovoltaic (PV) manufacturers, known for its high-quality solar cells and modules. The company selected Gray to build its first U.S. facility—an award-winning solar module assembly plant in Dalton, GA. The experience left an impression on Qcells, which soon selected Gray for a second project for a new facility with 420,000 s.f. of production space, a 400,000 s.f. raw and finished goods warehouse, and a corporate office complex.
Most recently, Qcells announced plans to partner with Gray on the construction of a production facility that President Biden described as “the largest solar investment in U.S. history,” which “will create thousands of good-paying jobs.” Gray is excited to strengthen our relationship with Qcells for the benefit of our companies, our communities, and American-made renewable energy.

With a customer relationship that stretches back to 2005, Qcells once again turned to Gray’s fully integrated services for its newest production facility—a manufacturing complex in White, GA, just outside of Cartersville and only 35 miles from the Dalton campus.
The complex will be the first in the U.S. to execute the total manufacture of silicon ingots and wafers, solar cells, and finished solar modules and will boast an annual production capacity of 3.3 gigawatts (GWDC), solidifying Qcells status as the market leader in domestic solar energy. Already, the project has received national recognition as the largest investment in domestic solar energy production. The endeavor was largely made possible by the passing of the Inflation Reduction Act and its related incentives for manufacturers of advanced technology to begin U.S. operations.
The Gray team has developed a close partnership with the customer to meet aggressive schedules and deliver a first-class facility for the industry-leading project, which is expected to begin production in mid-2025.
