Jami Killinger: Q&A with Project Manager on Quality

At Gray, our Safety and Quality programs are at the heart of our mission to create unforgettable customer experiences and great projects. This goal isn’t just carried by the team members in the field and on the jobsites, but also by those who are in the office working diligently daily on our projects. We spoke with Jami Killinger, project manager, about Gray’s Quality program, why it’s so important, and what sets it apart from others in the industry.

What does Quality mean to you?

“Quality in construction, at the core, is our commitment to our customer that their project will be delivered within the guidelines and standards we define and establish at the beginning of a project. Quality is also the backbone of Gray’s success and our core values; our commitment to safety and quality life, through the quality of our customer relationships, and the quality of which we treat each other.”

How has Gray’s Quality program changed since your time at Gray?

“I have seen an importance placed on Quality since I started at Gray in 2015. Our team members have always had access to valuable information and resources, including a Quality team that is always available to assist when questions arise. With the increase in hiring and demand in our construction services in recent months, it will be critical for our team members to maintain communication with our Quality team and know it’s ok to engage them early when challenging situations arise.”

Explain the role of technology as it pertains to Quality.

“Technology has given us the ability capture and analyze data, which is then used to help us prevent reoccurring issues on future projects.”

What sets Gray’s Quality program apart from others in the industry?

“The fact that Gray has a Quality program sets them apart!”
