Amada America Inc. Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for New U.S. Manufacturing Operation

Amada America Inc., a manufacturer of precision sheet metal fabricating equipment, held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate its new facility in High Point, North Carolina. The new facility will manufacture and assemble a line of high-precision press brake bending equipment for the U.S. market.

Amada selected Gray Construction to design and build its more than 250,000 s.f. manufacturing operation. The project includes a manufacturing facility, technical building and offices.

Amada manufactures, sells and services a line of precision sheet metal fabricating equipment, including punch presses, lasers, press brakes and flexible manufacturing systems, software and tooling for multiple markets including the automotive and appliance markets.

 

The groundbreaking ceremony included an official “turning of the dirt” with special remarks from Mr. Mitsuo Okamoto, Chairman/CEO of Amada Holdings Co. Ltd.; Mayor Jay Wagner, city of High Point; and Brent Christenson, Guilford County Economic Development Alliance. Guests consisted of local government officials, partners and friends.

 

The new operation will create some 200 jobs for the region.
