Takigawa Corporation Celebrates Groundbreaking on First U.S. Manufacturing Operation
Takigawa Corporation, a global leader in the art and science of flexible packaging, held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate its first manufacturing facility in the United States. The new facility will produce high-impact packaging for consumer packaged goods in an effort to meet growing demand.
“Breaking ground on our first U.S. facility is a significant step forward for Takigawa Corporation, and one we are proud to take alongside the people of Kentucky and Bardstown,” said Hiroyuki Takigawa, president of Takigawa Corporation. “We again want to thank those who worked hard to make this project possible. Takigawa selected Gray Construction to design and build its 148,000 s.f. greenfield manufacturing operation located on 18 acres in Bardstown, Kentucky.

Takigawa produces a wide range of bag formats and closure offerings to meet or exceed custom expectations for the supply chain and end consumers.
The groundbreaking ceremony included an official “turning of the dirt” with special remarks from Mayor Dick Heaton, city of Bardstown; Honorable Dean Watts, Nelson County Judge Executive; Senator Jimmy Higdon, Kentucky; Consul Tsuyoshi Sasao, Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville; Mr. Hiroyuki Takigawa, president of Takigawa Corporation; Governor Matt Bevin, Kentucky; and Kim Huston, president of Nelson County Economic Development Agency. Guests consisted of local government officials, partners and friends.
The new Bardstown facility will create some 180 jobs for the region.
