Personal Development: Q&A with Project Manager Annie Lozano

Company and team member growth at Gray are connected. As our team members grow, the company grows. But also, as the company grows, there are more and more opportunities for team members to expand their horizons and advance professionally as new opportunities present themselves. We spoke with Annie Lozano, project manager in Gray’s West office, about some of the opportunities that have been afforded her, what has changed during the recent growth at Gray, and her favorite part about the Gray family.

Describe your normal workday–your “day in the life.”

“A normal workday for me is spent communicating with the customer and the project team to plan and execute important tasks that keep the project progressing towards intermediate milestones and an overall successful completion. The key is to use this communication to build relationships along the way!”

What do you enjoy most about your work?

“Being part of a diversely talented team that works together towards the same goals is my favorite part of the Gray team. There are so many complexities and challenges on every project and having a “village” working together to solve problems is gratifying. Everyone has their important role to play. Like pieces of a puzzle, we all come together to create amazing projects.”

Since you started with the company, how has it changed in your opinion?

“Since I started with Gray in 2014, the company has grown rapidly but the core values remain the same. Even though Gray is a large, global company, we are still tight-knit and family oriented. So, we get the best of both worlds.”

What does being a part of the Gray family mean to you?

“Since day one, Gray has supported my personal development by continually presenting exciting and challenging opportunities that expand my skillset and my experiences. At Gray, my insight is always appreciated, my decisions are trusted, and my leadership is valued. The support I receive from Gray has empowered me and built my confidence to accomplish any mission.”

In one word or phrase, how would you describe Gray?

“Connected. We can collaborate quickly and work together easily. Our connected culture keeps us engaged.”

What has been the most memorable experience with Gray since you started?

“My most memorable experience was winning Project of the Year in 2019. It was the first project that I managed as the lead project manager.”
