Gray Southeast Office Named Alabama’s Best Large Employer for 2 Consecutive Years

Best Companies Group ranked Gray’s Southeast Regional Office No. 1 for the 2014 “Best Companies to Work for in Alabama.” Best Companies ranks the top companies in the state of Alabama in the large division category consisting of more than 250 team members in the U.S., the medium division category including companies with 50-249 U.S. employees, and the small division category, which represents businesses with 15-49 U.S. workers.

Gray received the top spot in the large division category not only in 2014, but it was also named Alabama’s No. 1 large company in 2013.

“We are beyond fortunate to have been named the best place to work in Alabama not just 1 year, but 2 consecutive years,” said Brian Jones, Vice President, Gray Southeast Regional Office.

“Gray Construction is a unique workplace for its family-like culture and strong core values that create a dynamic working environment for team members, not to mention the fact that Alabama is a great state to work in for its continuous support of business and economic development,” he continued. “I truly believe this is why we have received these honors.”

Various businesses from across the state completed a two-part survey program to be considered among the “best.” The group looked at each company’s workplace policies, systems, philosophy and demographics as well as employee experience in order to determine the final rankings.

Interestingly, Gray’s West Regional office was also recently named among the “Best Places to Work in Orange County.”

Gray Construction, a nationally ranked engineering, architecture and construction firm, has over 54 years of experience in manufacturing, automotive, food and beverage, distribution, hospitality and retail facility construction. Currently, Gray has several large projects that are underway or recently completed including: a Michelin Earthmover tire manufacturing plant in Anderson, S.C.; a Caterpillar Inc. manufacturing facility near Athens, Ga.; a Siemens gas turbine plant in Charlotte, N.C.; a Roxul, Inc. manufacturing facility in Byhalia, Miss.; a manufacturing plant for ZF Transmissions in Gray Court, S.C.; a Wal-Mart Supercenter expansion in Bakersfield, Calif.; a Marriott Springhill Suites in Anaheim, Calif.; and the Pomona Valley Transfer Station in Pomona, Calif.
