Gray Opens South Atlantic Office in Raleigh, N.C.
Gray Construction, a nationally ranked design, engineering and construction firm, has launched a new South Atlantic regional office in Raleigh, N.C., in order to better serve and grow its customer base in the region.
Headquartered in Lexington, Ky., Gray has offices in Alabama, California, Kentucky and Tokyo, Japan, with jobsites coast-to-coast.
“The South Atlantic region is an increasingly attractive location for top-tier manufacturers,” said Stephen Gray, president and CEO of Gray Construction.
“Recently, we’ve seen a renewed investment in manufacturing plant expansions in America with several large plants currently under construction for Gray customers in the Carolinas, Georgia and Virginia,” said Gray. “A permanent South Atlantic regional presence will complement our Birmingham Office and will help us expand and strengthen the partnerships we’ve developed over the past 30 years with our customers as well as with local and state economic development officials, and with local subcontractors and vendors.”

Gray’s South Atlantic Office, located at 7416 Chapel Hill Road in Raleigh, is headed by Tim Wilson, a long-time North Carolina resident with more than 30 years in construction management experience. Wilson is the former owner and president of Corporate Facility Services in Raleigh, where he oversaw construction projects throughout North America ranging from $7.5 million to more than $100 million. He attended North Carolina State University, and is a LEED AP professional and a licensed general contractor in North Carolina.
“As companies study where to build new manufacturing, mission critical, food and beverage, automotive and retail facilities, we’re confident that the advantages of the South Atlantic region – transportation and logistics, skilled labor pool and economic incentives, as well as the local expertise of our leading design-build firm – will tip the scales in favor of this region,” Wilson said.
“In addition, Gray’s national ranking for building green facilities makes the company an ideal partner for corporations contemplating highly energy-efficient, sustainable projects. I look forward to announcing many more Gray projects – and the local jobs that go along with them – in this region in the years to come,” Wilson added.
Gray has designed and built facilities in the South Atlantic for more than 30 years, completing 113 projects with a value of more than $1.4 billion since 1980. Gray customers in the region include auto manufacturers BMW and KIA, retail giants Costco and Dollar General, and also Academy Sports, Allvac, Caterpillar, Mitsubishi Chemical, Procter & Gamble and Siemens Gas Turbine.
