Communication is Key: Q&A with Senior Project Manager Conner Cox

The Gray family continues to grow and expand as new business opportunities are presented and new team members join. As we grow, it becomes more important than ever that our team members remain in constant communication to effectively execute our projects and collaborate on all aspects of the business. We spoke with Conner Cox, senior project manager at Spec Engineering, a Gray company, about the importance of this communication and his time with the Gray family.

 

Since you started with the company, how has it changed in your opinion?

 

“Since I came onboard, Spec Engineering has been growing our numbers and capabilities. We have been able to add a lot of talent to help us successfully execute bigger and more complex projects.”

 

What do you enjoy most about your work?

 

“I enjoy bringing solutions to customers with complex needs. I am empowered and encouraged to be agile and creative to help drive projects to completion and maintain satisfied customers.”

 

Can you tell us what your normal workday or “day in the life” is like?

 

My normal workday consists of mostly communication. I spend most of my time interacting with customers, suppliers, and internal staff to ensure my projects are staying on track.

 

What does being a part of the Spec Engineering and the Gray family mean to you?

 

“I love working for companies that actively care about their employees and their customers. Gray and Spec Engineering make me feel supported personally and professionally and that allows me to properly support our customers.”

 

What has been the most memorable experience with Spec Engineering since you started?

 

“My first week with Spec Engineering ended with an outing to Top Golf. It was an early indication that this was a fun place to be and highlighted the creativity to come up with a COVID-friendly activity.”

 

In one word or phrase, how would you describe Spec Engineering?

 

“Innovative.”
