Gray Tops the 2019 Constructech Women in Construction List
Gray, a leading design-build firm recognized for engineering, architecture and construction expertise, is proud to announce that two of its team members have been named to Constructech magazine’s 2019 Women in Construction list. Allison Lewis, pre-construction research specialist, and Valan Daniel, BIM/VDC specialist, were recognized for their innovation, passion and ability to leverage technology in the construction industry.
Women in Construction
“The Women in Construction are true examples of stalwartness in an industry that is primarily dominated by men,” says Peggy Smedley, editorial director of Constructech magazine and president of Specialty Publishing Media. “These forward-thinking women are aspiring for more than just a paycheck. What makes them truly stand out is how they inspire all women to persevere and are dedicated to helping the industry thrive as a whole. I am so pleased to be recognizing them for their successes.”
Allison resides within the pre-construction division and is driving the department in the creation and mapping of processes and procedures as well as the implementation of new estimating software. Valan, as a key position in the BIM/VDC group, facilitates the successful implementation of BIM (Building Information Modeling), technology and the related processes for use throughout Gray’s various departments.
The ladies were honored at a reception and dinner at the DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago in Arlington Heights, Ill., to emphasize the achievements women are making in the industry.
“We’re proud to have both Allison and Valan as part of the Gray family,” said Stephen Gray, president and CEO of Gray. “Both ladies are instrumental in making a significant difference in technological advancements that will move Gray and the construction sector forward.”
