Gray & Bharat Forge Partner on New Manufacturing Facility in North Carolina
Gray, a fully integrated service provider specializing in engineering, design, and construction, is excited to partner with Bharat Forge, a leading automotive forging company based in India, on a new manufacturing facility in Sanford, North Carolina. Bharat Forge selected Gray to design and build a 98,070 s.f. greenfield facility that will manufacture automobile components.
“It’s exciting for Gray to partner with Bharat Forge,” says Brett Goode, senior vice president of Gray’s South Atlantic Region. “We’re thrilled to continue executing great projects in North Carolina and the automotive manufacturing market.”
“We are delighted to make our biggest overseas investment in North America, in the state of North Carolina, which offers excellent advantages and a strong talent pool. Importantly, this also brings us closer to our customers in North America. This investment will help us create a strong global manufacturing footprint as part of our aluminum strategy, spanning Europe, Asia and the United States,” says Mr. Amit Kalyani, Deputy Managing Director, Bharat Forge Ltd.
The new facility in Sanford will be part of a larger manufacturing center that will bring as many as 460 jobs to the region.
“Global industrial manufacturer Bharat Forge is making its largest overseas investment in Sanford because our quality workers along with our other resources will help drive demand for their products,” said North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper.
The project is expected to be complete in the spring of 2021 and will have 150 workers on site at peak construction.
