As the company’s second facility in Mooresville, the 293,082 s.f. facility will house finished goods and raw materials and serve as an international distribution center for raw materials.
“On behalf of our parent company, NGK Insulators Ltd. and all our local employees, we would like to thank the Mooresville community for all the support provided over the years,” said Steve Dailey, president of NGK Ceramics. “This support and the quality of the people that have worked here has been an important key in our success.”
“Having recently celebrated our 30th year in Mooresville, we now look forward to the next 30 years as we continuously work to build our future,” he added.
Located on more than 40 acres in the Mooresville Business Park East, the new facility will enable NGK Ceramics to consolidate both raw materials and finished product in one location just five minutes away from the company’s production plant and, ultimately, provide improved services to its customers.
“We are thrilled to partner with NGK Ceramics on a project that will allow the company to expand and improve its operations,” said Stephen Gray, president and CEO of Gray Construction.
“This project further solidifies our commitment to the Carolinas, having executed work in this region for more than 30 years,” added Brett Goode, senior vice president of Gray’s South Atlantic Region. “We’re excited to be part of this project that supplies most of the major car and truck manufacturing companies in the U.S.”
“Without a doubt, one of the best parts of being mayor of this great town is participating in celebrations – just like this one today – where a company is a key component of our overall community, “ said Miles Atkins, mayor of Mooresville. “NGK, an INTERNATIONAL business, has been part of our LOCAL business community for 30 years. The company has invested millions of dollars, recruited hundreds of workers, hired countless local residents and been an integral part of our business park. NGK is a model corporate citizen, and we are still thankful they chose Mooresville three decades ago.”
The project is scheduled to be complete by the end of this year.
