Continued Growth Spurs New Leadership at Gray Construction’s Southeast Regional Office
Top ranked design-build firm Gray Construction today announces an important milestone in the continuous growth of its Southeast Regional Office in Birmingham, Alabama. Patrick McCowan will now serve as Regional Manager, ensuring that Gray continues to expand its footprint in the area by strategically leading sales efforts, operations and relationships with customers across the Southeast.
Since its inception in 2002, Gray’s Southeast Regional Office has experienced exponential growth. To accommodate this growth and serve an increasing customer base, in 2014 the company also began redeveloping Birmingham’s historic Booker T. Washington Insurance Co. building for its regional headquarters.
“I’m thrilled with the opportunity to lead our Southeast Regional Office,” said McCowan. “I look forward to strengthening current relationships and building new ones as we continue to provide world-class engineering, architecture and construction services to customers in the southeastern U.S.”
Over the last 16 years, McCowan earned the reputation of a “true quarterback” at Gray by leading and motivating his team members by example through his dedication, compassion and enthusiasm. Prior to his current role, McCowan served in various capacities including Project Director, Senior Project Manager and Project Manager in Gray’s manufacturing and food and beverage business unit. He also played an integral role in the sale and execution of several recent projects for customers including Fritz Winter North America LP, ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Weber Metals, Inc., Tenaris and Volvo Car USA.
Gray’s Southeast Regional Office was previously led by Daniel Pittman, who now serves as Project Director. As Project Director, Pittman will utilize his extensive experience in project management and leadership to ensure continued excellence in execution. Prior to his current role, he served as Project Manager and subsequently, as Senior Project Manager.
Since joining Gray in 2010, Pittman has been responsible for the success of numerous key projects for manufacturing and retail customers such as Mercedes-Benz, U.S. International Inc., Drax Biomass, Costco Wholesale Corporation, Medline Manufacturing and Walmart.
