Weber Metals, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Otto Fuchs Metallwerkeselected Gray to provide design-build services on a titanium and aluminum component manufacturing facility for the aerospace industry. The 113,500 s.f. facility features a 60,000-ton forging press, which is the largest in the world to be procured and installed by a private company.

  • 13-month schedule
  • Building features:
    • Floor construction consists of 16" slab on grade and 2 mats of #8 rebar at 12" OC each way 
    • Wall construction consists of metal siding
    • (1) 120-metric-ton bridge crane, plus a 40-ton hoist
    • (2)10-metric-ton bridge cranes
    • (2) 5-metric-ton bridge cranes
  • The press, which is considered the largest of its kind in the Western hemisphere, required an 80-foot excavation for the foundation, necessitating significant shoring and dewatering
