Bharat Forge is a global provider of metal components for customers across a range of industrial sectors, most notably the automotive and aerospace industries. Seeking to strengthen its transcontinental presence along with European and Asian operations, the company selected Gray for a multi-phase project to design and build a greenfield manufacturing facility in Lee County, NC.

Headquartered in Pune, India, Bharat Forge manufactures metal components for a variety of automotive and industrial partners. As Bharat Forge’s largest investment in North America, this project enables the company to create a strong global footprint for metals manufacturing, spanning Europe, Asia, and the U.S.
Gray’s broad scope of services for the project included pre-construction, design, engineering, construction, and equipment procurement & installation. Phase I of the project required the construction of a 100,000 s.f. forging facility for producing aluminum and steel components for its global customer base.
Following the success of Phase I, the customer selected Gray to design and build a second production facility on the Sanford campus. The 150,000 s.f. Phase II facility will add a second forging and casting production line which will double the campus’ capacity. The operation is expected to bring more than 450 manufacturing and administrative jobs to Lee County by the end of 2025.
