Rebekah
Gray
After earning her degree from Vanderbilt University, she followed the advice her father, Howard Gray, shared with all his children: build your career elsewhere first, earn your experience, then bring that perspective home. Rebekah did exactly that. She spent nearly a decade with a construction division of a global aerospace and defense organization in Washington, DC, where she led complex project planning efforts, supported large-scale defense initiatives, and developed the operational discipline and resilience required to succeed in high-pressure, highly regulated environments.
This time outside the family business not only sharpened her project management expertise but also reinforced the strong work ethic and strategic mindset that continue to guide her leadership today. She returned to Gray full-time in 2010, working hands-on in the field on the Whirlpool project. Since then, she has advanced through a wide range of leadership roles spanning operations, project services, accounting, and business unit management—most notably in Gray’s Food & Beverage, Advanced Technology, and Strategic Projects markets.
Her cross-functional background provides a comprehensive, 360-degree understanding of the business, empowering her to lead with strategic clarity and operational depth. With an eye for transformative opportunities, Rebekah led Gray’s strategic project efforts—including the LEGO Group’s new toy manufacturing facility in partnership Hourigan and an award-winning project for Hill’s Pet Nutrition—and identified new opportunities that expanded Gray’s reach and reinforced its position as an industry leader.
Outside the office, Rebekah serves as President of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Kentucky, where she actively champions the future of construction and the professionals who drive the industry forward. She is also a devoted community leader and passionate supporter of Howard’s Team—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2008 to honor her father, Howard Gray, Gray Construction’s long-time President and now Chief Storytelling Officer, and his ongoing journey with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Rebekah and her husband, Ben, enjoy fishing, hiking, and spending time trackside at Keeneland, where they embrace Kentucky’s spirit of both adventure and tradition.
