Gray

Franklin Gray, one of the second-generation Gray brothers who helped build the family-owned company, joined Gray in 1979, bringing a strong foundation in architecture and hands-on field experience.

Over the course of his career, Franklin has contributed across all aspects of the business—from project execution to customer negotiations and operational leadership—supporting projects across a wide range of markets. His early focus on design helped strengthen Gray’s integrated design-build capabilities, further differentiating the company in a competitive industry.

Throughout his career, Franklin has played a defining role in advancing Gray’s design capabilities. As a formally trained architect, he was instrumental in developing and leading the company’s design function, helping strengthen Gray’s integrated design-build approach at a time when the model was still emerging across the industry.

Franklin has held several key leadership roles at Gray, including President, Executive Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer. Today, he serves as Vice President of Architecture at Gray AES and as a member of Gray’s Board of Directors, where he continues to help guide the company’s strategic direction and long-term success.

When he’s not working, Franklin enjoys hunting with his bird dogs and improving wildlife habitat.
