TOPRE AMERICA CELEBRATES EXPANSION GRAND OPENING

Topre America, a repeat Gray customer, celebrated the grand opening of their newly expanded facility on September 28, 2012 in Cullman, Ala. The 123,384 s.f. expansion makes the Cullman campus Topre’s first hot stamping facility in the U.S.

Gray, ranked 6th among the top contractors in auto plants construction, provided design-build services for this project. Gleeds served as the contract and payment consultant on this project.

Topre, a leading maker of automotive press products was founded in 1935 in Tokyo, Japan. Their first overseas manufacturing plant was completed in Cullman, AL in 2004. In 2006, Gray was awarded a 100,000 s.f. expansion project to the stamping and assembly facility and was selected again in 2011 for an additional expansion project.

Gray, a nationally ranked engineering, design and construction company, currently has several large projects, mostly located across the South, that are underway or recently completed including a Michelin Earthmover tire manufacturing plant in Starr, S.C.; a Caterpillar Inc. manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; a Caterpillar Inc. manufacturing facility near Athens, Ga.; a Siemens gas turbine plant in Charlotte, North Carolina; a Whirlpool plant in Cleveland, Tenn.; and multiple projects for Austal USA in Mobile, Alabama.
