Strategic Planning for Long-Term Growth: Q&A with Senior Project Manager Carlos Delgado
Sustained, long-term growth requires strategic planning, not just in terms of the projects we pursue and acquire, but also the team members we bring on board to help grow the business. Carlos Delgado, senior project manager with Gray Solutions, a Gray company, recently joined the Gray family when Stone Technologies was acquired by Gray Solutions. We spoke with him about the importance of growing the correct way, the potential for the future of the company, and his favorite part of the Gray family.
Tell us what your normal workday or “day in the life” is like.
Communications is a huge part of my normal day. As a senior project manager, my day involves project planning and then communicating that plan to our internal team as well as the customer team to set expectations. Achieving a successful project is impossible without proper communication.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Customer and team member satisfaction. Watching a project team grow and constantly impress customers with our expertise and work ethic is awesome. This leaves little room for anything else but a good project and a great customer relationship.
What has been the most memorable experience with Gray Solutions since you started?
I would say the most memorable times probably occur during our yearly corporate meetings and parties. Mostly just good times with other team members.
Since you started with the company, how has it changed in your opinion?
We have definitely grown and expanded our capabilities. It seems like every day we are strategically hiring talented workers to improve our knowledge and capabilities. With the recent acquisition of Stone Technologies by Gray Solutions, legacy Stone can now tap into the capabilities in the family of brands. On the other hand, legacy Stone brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and long-term customers that Gray Solutions can now help expand.
In one word or phrase, how would you describe Gray Solutions?
Determination. Determined to always do the right thing, to be successful, to finish a project with a win for our customers.
