The Siemens Energy, Inc. project in Charlotte, N.C. hosted a safety luncheon on Wednesday, April 6th, 2011. In the fall of 2010, Siemens selected Gray Construction to design and build its new 450,000 s.f. 60-Hz gas turbine production plant adjacent to its existing steam turbine plant. Gray hosts a safety luncheon on each jobsite to show appreciation to the many subcontractors and Gray team members who help put safety and quality of life first. Safety is a top priority at Gray. In fact, it’s our No. 1 Core Value. The Siemens safety luncheon celebrated the following:

    • 165 days on site

    • 90,102 man hours to date

    • 0 days with zero lost time incidents

    • 12 contractors on site

    • 190 average daily manpower

    • 430,000 cubic yards of dirt removed

    • 33,788 tons of stone removed

    • 5,000 cubic yards of concrete poured

    • 3,500 tons of steel erected
