Cohesive Teams, Company Wide: Q&A with Anderson Dahlen's Chris Boxell
Anderson Dahlen, a Gray company, has provided customers unparalleled craftsmanship and expertise in specialty alloy fabrication and equipment integration services for more than 75 years. Since joining forces with Gray in 2020, Anderson Dahlen has served countless projects and customers to solve complex challenges that span a variety of industries, particularly food & beverage. We sat down with program manager, Chris Boxell, to discuss Anderson Dahlen, cohesive teams, and what sets Gray apart from the rest.
Describe your normal workday–your “day in the life.”
I work out for an hour every morning before work. This motivates me so I feel healthy, alive, and ready to take on the day.
Currently, I am managing multiple projects along with training and mentoring project managers within the New Product Development (NPD) engineering group. I work with operations, engineering, and scheduling, as we drive towards common milestones for our organization’s success.
What do you enjoy most about your work at Gray?
I enjoy building cohesive teams around projects and meeting successful outcomes for our customers.
What has been your most memorable experience since joining the Gray Family?
I attended a GrayU course centered around building cohesive teams. The course was hosted by Stephen Gray, along with Kevin Farrell and Jason Cummins, who are both retired and highly accomplished military veterans. The discussion on teamwork impacted me greatly.
What’s the most valuable advice you’ve ever been given?
You will be in this field for 20 years and still not know everything there is to know. After more than 30 years in this career, I still find myself learning something new every day.
