Dedication and Determination: Gray Through the Eyes of a Team Member
As we say many times, our greatest strength at Gray is our people. Our team members in our offices and on jobsites are the engine that propels the business and keep things moving. Not only is it important to have great people in place to help keep the company successful, but it’s also vital that those team members feel at home with Gray.
We had a chance to speak with a team member recently about her time with Gray and what makes the company so special.
Can you please describe your role at Gray?
The payroll coordinator role consists of tasks related to processing payrolls, including all email communications about timesheets, auditing all electronic timesheets for coding discrepancies, compiling field per-diems as well as work locations reports, and more. I also am responsible for new hire orientation, welcome emails to new hires, among several other payroll-related tasks.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The opportunity to work with some great people makes it truly enjoyable to be a part of the Gray team. No matter what obstacle we encounter, the team is there for support. The ability to connect and work alongside our employees has been a joy!
Since you started with Gray, how has the company changed in your opinion?
Growth has been apparent, and I have witnessed the strength and determination when a pandemic forced many to work remotely.
What has been your most memorable experience with Gray since you started?
My most memorable experience was at the 2019 Annual Meeting. It was inspiring to see how involved Gray is in giving back, especially to the Save A Warrior foundation. The testimony of the families brought me to tears. I have military members in my family, and I know the struggles they faced when returning from deployment.
What does being a part of the Gray Family mean to you?
Being a member of the Gray family, makes me very proud. From our various philanthropic actions to our inclusiveness, it has been apparent that Gray is one of a kind. This drives me to do the best I can in every opportunity I receive.
In one word or phrase, how would you describe Gray?
Gray represents the word integrity. Through my daily interactions with people in the company, I have learned that we all hold ourselves to a high standard. Across all roles, I have seen honesty, transparency, and thoughtfulness which makes me feel I am right where I belong.
