Eisenmann Corp., headquartered in southern Germany, is a leading global industrial solutions provider for surface finishing, material flow automation, environmental engineering, and thermal process technology.

The new manufacturing facility expands the company’s global footprint, produces the new Volvo S60 premium mid-size sports sedan, and produces the newest generation of the Volvo XC90 large premium SUV. The two manufacturing lines boast an annual production capacity of up to 150,000 vehicles.

Sensitive Processes

To coordinate process equipment installation with minimal disruption to operational flow, Gray designed and implemented a multi-discipline model. The highly flammable nature of the paint shop required Gray to install extensive fire protection engineering, with a high-pressure mist system in the paint booths, wet and dry systems inside exhaust ductwork, and fire protection systems dedicated to process equipment. In addition to an automated storage/retrieval system, Gray installed more than 150,000 s.f. of platforms to house the operation’s process equipment and more than 50,000 l.f. of utility piping.
