“We are happy that we were able to find Gray. Being a family-owned company, like us, the communication has been quite simple,” said Luigi Lazzareschi, CEO of the Sofidel Group. “It started from the first meetings. They took into consideration our way of doing things, and it was a collaboration to find a solution to fit our needs.”
U.S. Investment for Further Growth
The location of Ohio was particularly attractive to Sofidel for its close proximity to customer distribution centers, a desirable workforce, a good rail system connected to water and gas, as well as other logistical considerations. As the sixth largest manufacturer in the world of toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissue, and other specialty paper products, Sofidel employs some 6,000 employees globally.
Due to the extremely high temperatures generated by steam, the paper machining area is constructed entirely with concrete precast materials to withstand the constant heat and pressure.
The new greenfield facility spans more than 1.6 million s.f. and employs approximately 300 people.
