For Mycoworks’ first full-scale Fine Mycelium™ production facility, property owner CH Realty selected Gray to upfit an existing building in Union, SC. The brownfield renovation will house Mycoworks’ manufacturing operation and corporate offices.

MycoWorks is a biotechnology company that specializes in engineering mycelium to create innovative, high-quality materials. The company was founded in San Francisco in 2013 on the principle of delivering sustainable products with a creative approach to craftsmanship.
Gray is collaborating with the development team of CH Realty and Stream Realty Partners on the project near downtown Union. When completed, the plant will grow sheets of Fine Mycelium for use in name-brand consumer products such as handbags, wallets, purses, clothing, shoes, and automobile interiors. Gray is providing design, construction, and engineering services for the 135,000 s.f. project—the customer’s first industrial-scale facility.
