This fast-paced project for a leading pool chemical manufacturer involved the design, procurement, construction, installation, and testing of an eight-station, 130-foot skid system. To help the customer meet pressing public demand for pool chemicals during the COVID-19 pandemic, Gray completed the project in just four months.
For the skid system, two blending systems for dry chemical powders feed directly into bulk bags or totes for operator safety and product dust control. A hoist system is used to drop main and minor ingredients directly into two large horizontal paddle mixers, while an integrated dust collection system discharges back into the blender for product recovery. The newly implemented system increased batch capacity by 40%.
