The Gap Inc. is a global apparel retail company founded in 1969 and headquartered in San Francisco, CA. The company selected Gray to design and build the 425,606 s.f. expansion to its fulfillment center in Ohio.

This expansion allows the global retailer to significantly increase daily output to support its growing online business. The project, completed in just eight months, stayed on track despite a wintery beginning and the challenges of the rainy season. The building clear height in 40′, which will accommodate the new AS/RS and sorting equipment allowing Gap to double throughput capacity for the facility.
The two mezzanines are included in the facility – a 6,000 s.f. office area over the breakroom and a 75,000 s.f. mezzanine for material handling equipment. The east wall of the expansion is a Maximum Foreseeable Loss Double wall (MFL wall) that has six back-to-back conveyor openings located 27′ above.
With brands including Banana Republic, Old Navy, and Athleta, Gap is in more than 90 countries and staffs 130,000 employees internationally.
