Sustainable Manufacturing Comes to Columbia.
Founded in 1997 in New London, NC, Fiberon manufactures and sells high-quality, eco-friendly composite decking, railing, and fencing. The company is a part of Fortune Brands Innovations, which owns other familiar home and security brands.
Fiberon selected Gray for complete design-build services for a manufacturing facility on a 130-acre site in Columbia, TN.

The new facility will manufacture polyethylene (PE) decking product lines and composite cladding and has been designed for best practices in sustainable manufacturing. The plant is scheduled to begin its first phase of operations in late 2024.
Onsite recycling operations will process post-consumer and post-industrial plastic to be used in new outdoor products. The building also features a number of energy-saving initiatives such as a closed-loop water system, LED lighting, windows that reduce heat transfer, and energy-efficient air chillers and compressors. Plant processes include digitalized product lines for continuous improvement and the use of advanced automation to improve worker safety and product flow.
Production at the facility will bring more than 300 full-time jobs over the first five years, marking a major expansion of the Fiberon team and a boost to the regional economy.
