Instinct Pet Food

Instinct Pet Food selected Gray to design and build a new 113,000 s.f. manufacturing facility for freeze-dried pet food in Lincoln, Nebraska. AD Process Equipment initially worked on the Front-End Loading (FEL) Phase 1 for Instinct, evaluating future growth at a greenfield location. This FEL-1 reviewed current processes and proposed the layout and design. Instinct’s concept was translated to a cohesive plant layout design with equipment drawings, process drawings, electrical loads, utility drawings, and 3D drawings.

The design included tempering, freeze drying, HPP, research and development, warehouse storage, and a new production area utilizing dehydration and refrigeration elements. Collaborating with Gray to design the building, the proper process equipment was seamlessly integrated into the space. All equipment was properly specified to follow GMP, FSMA, and NFPA 652 guidelines. AD Process Equipment supervised contractors, including mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and piping, to ensure a safe, proper, and quality installation.

This Centre of Excellence facility will provide best-in-show practices and tours for customers and partners.
