Spec Team Spotlight: Jeff Carson

Jeff Carson started as a Project Manager at Spec Engineering in 2021 and has now assumed the role of Product Line Manager for CandyWorx, a Spec Engineering brand. “Since I started with Spec, there have been positive changes across the board from new positions opening up and people changing roles to all help better the company and really put us in a good position to succeed and grow the brand. People are transitioning to positions that are a better fit, and we are utilizing people’s talents in a more productive manner,” said Jeff.

Jeff brings extensive industry knowledge and experience from bakery and confections projects, allowing him to get started right away on CandyWorx projects in his new role. Jeff is also a member of the American Society of Baking and Bakers Courtesy Club of Chicago.

As a CandyWorx Product Line Manager, Jeff manages the CandyWorx division assisting with customer relations, sales, procurement, fabrication, acting as a liaison between all departments, machine design, service calls, and overseeing project completion of all machinery sold. His favorite part of his job is interacting with the whole company in this role, as the projects touch all departments of the company while assuring customer satisfaction. When asked to describe Spec in one word, he said, “Invested – the company really makes the effort to put people in a good spot to succeed and allows the employee to feel like they are a part of the team and are important to the overall success.”

Jeff’s favorite part about being a member of the Spec team is the people. “We have a great team, and everyone is willing to go that extra mile to help each other and make sure the company as a whole are successful,” he said. His most memorable experience since starting has been the camaraderie among the team to finish challenging projects.
