Spec Engineering Introduces Joe Krueger as the new VP of Engineering Operations

Spec Engineering, a Gray company, is proud to announce that Joe Krueger has joined the company as the VP of Engineering Operations. Krueger earned a degree in Business Administration from DePaul University, and he has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience within various industries including manufacturing, food production, industrial equipment, business-to-business services, and consumer products. Past responsibilities included overseeing operations, engineering, finance, sales, and marketing.

Krueger brings Food & Beverage industry expertise to the Spec team from his time as the Chief Operating Officer at a food contract manufacturing company. While there, he managed three 24/6 production facilities that produced bake mixes, beverages, and cereals with over 500 employees. In addition, Krueger has experience with manufacturing grinding and milling equipment heavily used in food facilities, along with selling industrial equipment and engineering services for complete line upgrades.

As the VP of Engineering Operations, Krueger will be responsible for evaluating overall systems at Spec to better understand and allocate capacity and ensure collaboration across all departments and roles. He will also use his experience of implementing two ERP systems to enhance Spec’s ERP procedures and usage.

When asked about what was appealing about joining the Spec team, Krueger referenced the energy in the office, the willingness of the team to work together, and the many opportunities to enhance what the company offers. “The potential growth opportunities are really appealing. I’m looking forward to the team moving to the new 75,000 s.f. facility with 20,000 s.f. of much-needed office space,” says Krueger. “There are also many exciting business opportunities on the horizon for both Spec and Gray.”
