Congratulations to Kelly Hauge, SPEC's new Marketing Administrator!

SPEC Engineering is very proud to announce that our employee, Kelly Hauge, has been named the 2017 AMA Student Marketer of the Year. The AMA Student Marketer of the Year is a national award offered by the American Marketing Association recognizing one senior who has made a large impact in AMA through leadership, academics, and community service. The mission of the AMA Collegiate Chapters Division is to be the world’s leading professional student organization by furthering the professional development of students through leadership training and involvement in the field of marketing. Kelly has been involved in this organization throughout her time at Aurora University, and has served as the AU/AMA chapter president for the past year. Kelly and the chapter received another special award being named the International Collegiate Chapter of the Year for AMA.

Kelly Hauge joined the SPEC team in February 2017 as a part-time Marketing Administrator while she completes her double major Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Business Administration from Aurora University. SPEC is very excited to welcome Kelly on as a full-time position upon her graduation in May.

Kelly grew up in Oswego, Illinois, attended Oswego East High School, and still lives there today. Kelly was attracted to the culture at SPEC and the small size of the organization. She likes that everyone works together in a positive and encouraging way. While she does not have an engineering background, she likes to see the “behind the scenes” work that goes into managing an engineering project.  Kelly says, “Providing marketing support for an engineering firm allows me to also learn about the industry as I get to implement marketing techniques.” When Kelly is not at work, she is usually attending classes, studying, and participating in the AU/AMA organization. She credits the club for providing countless networking and educational opportunities, while also being a great way to meet friends and travel. She is very excited to graduate and hopefully discover new hobbies in her free time! Kelly also loves all things Disney and visits Disney World frequently. Her two favorite food groups are fruit and chocolate! Luckily, being in the confectionery industry, SPEC seems to keep a lot of chocolate around the office and hopes this keeps Kelly excited to join us at work everyday!
