SPEC’s 3rd annual charity event, strike out hunger, was on June 9th this year. The Strike Out Hunger bowling event benefits 4 anti-hunger organizations: Loaves & Fishes, Feeding Tomorrow, Green Harvest Food Pantry, and Feeding America. This bowling event was held at Pinstripes Bowling Alley in Oakbrook from 5-7pm. SPEC donated 1 dollar for every pin knocked down by all participants. Both SPEC employees and customers participated in our Strike Out Hunger bowling night.
The teams that participated in SPEC’s Strike Out Hunger event were Sweetener Supply, Rich Products, Fauske, Flavorchem, and St Charles. Rich products team one took second place followed closely by Fauske in 3rd place. St Charles took first place in the bowling tournament and got to donate the money in their company’s name.
In addition to the money raised, participants were asked to donate canned goods. The canned goods were donated to The Green Harvest Food Pantry. The Green Harvest Food Pantry is located across the street from SPEC’s office.
Strike Out hunger was a big success for its 3rd year in a row! It provided a fun opportunity to bowl with customers while giving back to the community.
