Historical Restaurant That Connects People.

Sweetgreen is an American restaurant chain, primarily serving salads and grain bowls, with a mission to inspire healthier communities by connecting people to real food. The company chose Gray to renovate its newest location in Koreatown in Los Angeles.

For this project, Sweetgreen chose a historical building for its location. In fact, Bobby Kennedy utilized the upstairs library of this building for his presidential campaign room. During the renovation of the building, Gray was careful to retain the historical nature of the building and not to disrupt any of the existing exterior structure, with the exception of the construction of one new entrance.

Originally this project was scheduled to be completed within 12 weeks, but, due to the pandemic, the project schedule was extended in order to abide by federal and local recommendations.

This is the third time Sweetgreen and Gray have partnered together.
