Gray Construction Celebrates the Grand Opening of New Manufacturing Facility for Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company

Gray Construction, a leading design-build firm recognized for its engineering, architecture and construction expertise, is proud to commemorate the opening of a new manufacturing facility for Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company in Killeen, Texas. The new MGC Pure Chemicals America, Inc. (MPCA), plant produces and distributes ultra-pure hydrogen peroxide used in the semiconductor industry primarily as a cleaning and etching agent in semiconductor wafer and device manufacturing processes.

Gray Construction was selected to design and build the new facility on an 18-acre site, provide turnkey procurement and install all process components. Gray was also instrumental in the site analysis of the Texas location as well as incentive negotiations.Based in Tokyo, Japan, Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. (MGC) is a global leader featuring the highest quality standards and underlying analysis and quality assurance capabilities. This new facility is the company’s second American manufacturing plant producing ultra-pure hydrogen peroxide.

MPCA plans to create some twenty jobs this year and expand further going into the next five years. At peak construction, some 130 workers were on the Texas jobsite.

 

MPCA and Gray are also partnering on another new manufacturing facility in Oregon, which is expected to begin production later this year.
