Mar Bauza, production manager at Spec Engineering, celebrated his eight-year anniversary with Spec this month. Mar joined the Spec family in 2014 and has been a constant and integral piece of Spec’s fabrication capabilities. He started as a process equipment technician and since then was the warehouse and assembly lead and now production manager. “As my role has grown over the years, so has the company. The jobs we work on are larger, our team is more experienced and growing, and our manufacturing space has grown significantly,” Mar said.
As the production manager, not only does Mar manage the workload in the shop, he also is involved in fabrication, assembly, and field installations. Mar prepares the fabrication and assembly for the jobs that the team is working on by ensuring they have everything they need to successfully complete the task. He puts Spec quality first in both the work he completes and the decisions he makes concerning our engineered systems. Mar said, “I really enjoy helping Spec grow from the small company we started as to the growing company we are today.” In one word or phrase, he described Spec as “thorough.”
Mar’s favorite part of being a member of the Spec team is watching the company grow each year and always expanding Spec’s capabilities and resources. His most memorable experience with Spec since he started was moving the manufacturing facility from Plainfield to the brand-new space in Naperville. He said it is exciting to have even more space to build, test, and present equipment and systems.
