4th Annual Strike Out Hunger Bowling Night

SPEC’s 4th annual charity event, Strike Out Hunger, was on April 20, 2017. The Strike Out Hunger event is an opportunity for SPEC to stay connected with customers, while also gathering to support a good cause. This bowling event, held at Pinstripes in Oakbrook, benefits 2 anti-hunger organizations: Loaves & Fishes and Green Harvest Food Pantry.

The teams that participated in SPEC’s Strike Out Hunger event include: Rich Products, Flavorchem, Schold, Ferrara, IFM, Bauderer Packaging, and SPEC. IFM took home first place in the bowling tournament, while the Ferrara / SPEC team placed second and Schold placed third.

In addition to the money raised, participants were asked to donate canned goods as an additional way to help support the fight against hunger. The canned goods were donated to Green Harvest Food Pantry, which is located across the street from SPEC’s office.

Over $5,500 and several boxes of nonperishable food items were donated to Loaves & Fishes and Green Harvest Food Pantry. This was the largest donation year yet!

About Green Harvest Food Pantry: At Green Harvest, we feel that these uncertain times have led us toward aiding low-income families, retirees, and the workers of our community who have recently lost their jobs. We believe that there is a serious problem today when parents must decide between feeding, providing shelter, or buying medicine for their children.
