Japan Relief - 2011 Tsunami
Following the devastating Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan in 2011, Hiro Okazaki, Gray's Japanese operations director, wanted to do something to help his homeland. His idea was to sell t-shirts featuring the Japanese phrase "Ganbaro Nipon," which means "Let's Go Japan." Hiro developed the calligraphy and artwork himself, which also includes the Japanese flag's red sun on the back of the shirt. Over 500 t-shirts were ordered and a donation of over $7,000 was made to the American Red Cross's Japan earthquake and Pacific tsunami relief fund. Gray also participated in a 5K run/walk hosted by Toyota Texas in San Antonio to benefit disaster relief efforts in Japan. This event raised nearly $40,000 with more than 800 attendees.
