Safety and quality of life are Gray’s most important values.

At Gray, safety is the cornerstone of everything we do. We empower and challenge our team members, subs/vendors, and other partners to make smart, measured, and safe decisions across offices and jobsites. Through a personal commitment to one another and to ourselves, we put safety and quality of life first.

Our dedication to safety goes above and beyond OSHA requirements. We conduct company-wide trainings, set measurable goals, and stringently monitor our jobsites and field teams. Our safety record, including Gray team members and subcontractors, is over 50% better than the industry average. Still, we view even one incident as unacceptable. Our goal is always to make sure everyone goes home safe at the end of each day.

Gray has been recognized for achievements in safety with multiple honors on both a national and regional level. We are a recipient of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Willis Construction Safety Excellence Award. We are two-time recipients of the first-place honor in the 500,000+ construction management hours worked division. We have been honored by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for many years with awards including STEP Diamond, Safest in the Industry Eagle Award, and Innovation in Safety Award.

From our perspective, worker safety is the most important enabler of quality. See how our thorough approach to safety informs our comprehensive approach to delivering quality projects for our customers.

"Safety is our No. 1 core value. Our mission is to make sure that everyone that shows up for work goes home at the end of the day to their loved ones free of injury."
Jim Grant, Chief Safety Officer, Gray, Inc.

Safety in the midst of COVID-19

The safety of our customers, team members, subcontractors, and business partners ties back to Gray’s number one core value: We put safety and quality of life first. As such, we are carefully adhering to federal and state guidelines, taking precautionary steps to do our part in preventing the spread of the virus.

"As site managers we must ‘think safety’ and create an atmosphere where our teams put safety and quality of life first. The responsibility for creating that atmosphere lies with the Gray site manager as well as our site teams. Together, we must strive to lead by example."
Gary Trussell, Site Manager

Promoting a proactive approach to food safety.

Delivering the safest, highest-quality foods is priority number one for producers in the Food & Beverage industry. Gray helps customers achieve these goals by designing custom solutions that focus on preventing safety breaches and maintaining product wholesomeness.

We help Food & Beverage customers prevent cross-contamination by designing custom sanitary safeguards that reduce or eliminate allergens, biohazards, and contaminants. Through proper structural design and the careful selection of materials and components, we create efficient facilities that produce products with less risk—many of which are easier and less expensive to clean and maintain. Working with Gray ensures a flexible, timely approach to building and refining food safety processes.

Transparency and ingredient traceability are critical for producers who want to maintain customer satisfaction while meeting increasingly stringent regulatory standards.

We advise customers on automation and data solutions that help them comply with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). We can help streamline Global Food Safety Initiative (GSFI) accreditation for customers who market their products with major retailers.

In addition to Food Safety, we help leading Food & Beverage producers solve their most complex challenges with our platform of integrated services.
